the decentralized web will make it more difficult to prevent cybercrime, online harassment, hate speech.

On the good side, it will put Facebook out of business.

Hmmm I thought decentralized platforms allow for more privacy protection, so won't they reduce the possibility of cybercrime etc?

na, remember web2 has a lot of moderation and I mean a lot of moderation you don't see websites of crime, abuse, and all the bad stuff easily. There is a lot of checks and balance when you buy a domain name it can be traced to your name buying a space on the web to host a website is can also be traced and if you bypass all of this the company still can just ban it and you for your content. all of this stuff is impossible in decentralized web remember as data is not one place, it is everywhere. tracking offenders and removing them becomes harder even Facebook has some checks and balance for Americans but a web without check and balance make life worst for all of us

Abha, I apprciate your explantion of this! I am loving reading each of your well-cradted articles. Although I am not a "working mom" but, rather, an entrpreneur and business/communications coach since 1985. (When I was 30, one of my great mentors told me, "Never work for anyone else!" and I listened.). My first online work was running the "home biz doc" forum for AOL 1996-2000, and I've been a digital nomad since 2011. With the fast and ever-changing online world, I am always learning something new, and you are a great resource and wonderful teacher! Thank you!
