We are in India (Pune) for 10 days days visiting my parents. After this we have a short break in Dubai then we go to Scotland to see my husband’s side of the family.
The plan is rest, family time, and for me, some deep work time + keeping the momentum of my business that has been raging for the last 6 months (I am very proud!)
I feel like the business I am building is just taking speed on a runway, how can I stop now!?
Although, deep work does not go well with small kids at home, summer holidays, no routine and no rules.
To be honest, I have no idea on how exactly I am going to get stuff done over summer.
All I know is that I have set some goals, and I HAVE to get them done.
So far, we are a week in; my son has been under the weather and so he has been like an appendage to which I’ve had no choice but to surrender.
He is better now, however now I’m feeling under the weather and so is my daughter.
In other words, at the moment, all I have to get anything done is determination.
Here’s what I need to do for my own work within the next week:
Evaluate the last 6 months based on some metrics I have
Plan the next 6 months based on a strategy
Determine some measurable metrics for the rest of the year
Work out a budget for the next 6 months for my business
Write x 1 story for Triple Pundit (this is a publication I have been writing for for almost 6 years now and I love it + it is a source of income.)
Do x 1 interview for another story for Triple Pundit
It overwhelms me to think that I need to get all this done between now and Sunday. Maybe I’m being too optimistic.
But then I remind myself that if I had a full time job, I would have been doing a similar quantity of work and come what may, I would get it done. I would have had to get it done. My job and pay check depended on it.
So, the same goes for my business. The difference is, I get to choose what I do, and when I do it.
So a reframe: I don’t have to get it done, I choose to get it done. For me. For the future of the dream business I am building.
When you are building your own business, only you are accountable.
As much as this is a luxury, it is also hard AF.
You need to drive your own motivation.
You need to stay disciplined.
You need to put in the work.
You have to take action.
You have to get stuff done.
No. Matter. What.
Because if you don’t, you won’t have a business and you will have to go back to a 9-5.
The choice is yours. And how grateful am I that I have this choice.
So next time you feel overwhelm to get something that is important to you done, remind yourself that you have chosen to make it important, and just get it done, no matter what.
My 6 month journey as a solopreneur…
Last week I hosted a session where I talked about my journey so far as a digital entrepreneur. How I quit my 9-5 and started building a business around my knowledge.
The internet, social media and new technology like AI is what is making this possible for anyone, which is why I am so passionate about sharing my journey.
I covered:
How I started my online business
What I have learned
Where I am now
How much I am making
What's next
How you can start too
Free resources to begin!

That’s all for now.
Have a great week,
With love,
