Clarifying the purpose of Working Mums Club

Hi there!

I am back from a wonderful few days celebrating Diwali in India.

We went to Alibaug where we rented a 12 bedroom house and 28 of us spent 3 glorious days catching up on the 4 years we hadn’t seen each other.

Family really is everything and I am so blessed to have a big and beautiful one.

Indian side of the family :)

Pondering the purpose of Working Mums Club

The internet connection in Alibaug was quite bad, so it meant that I didn’t open my computer.

Time away from my computer gave me mind space to think about my day-to-day life and how I want to spend my time in the future; and it kept bringing me back to why I launched this newsletter.

I launched this Working Mums Club newsletter in August 2021 for 2 main reasons:

  1. I want to design my life so that I can build a better career and be a better mum.

    • This newsletter became a channel to share my thoughts and journey with other mums who felt the same way, so we can learn from each other

  2. I was constantly meeting amazing mums who were working full time or entrepreneurs, which made me want to create a platform to bring them together with the goal of building a community

    • I am proud to say that we have nearly 300 of you as part of this community and I hope to grow it further

Designing my life for professional growth, time freedom and to be there for my kids

Those of you who are regular readers of my newsletter will know that the creator economy is one path that I have been exploring because I feel it’s a great amalgamation of doing something you love + managing your own time + making money = designing your own life.

The underlying desire of it all is to have streams of side-income that are not tied to my job, and that are more passive than active.

I’ve suddenly become conscious that many of you do not necessarily want to make side-incomes, or enter the creator economy. But you do want to grow, and learn and be the best mum you can.

Creating a somewhat passive stream of income although is linked to point #1 on designing my life, it is only a small part of it; yet I feel my newsletter was becoming very much only about that; and for that I apologize.

For mums who want to build better careers and be better mums

So, I am going to keep this newsletter for things that are related to being better versions of ourselves so we can be better professionals and better mums — the original premise of this newsletter, and the reason many of you joined to begin with!

I will still share anything I find of value that fits into the above umbrella. Time management, productivity, parenting, life-bettering tools, web3, AI, the future and how it might impact us, and maybe some side-income wins if they come through!

However, if you want more details on my side-income or journey in the creator / internet economy, please let me know here and I will make sure I let you know when I start sharing those details - good, bad and ugly :)

Do you want updates on my side-income journey?

  • 👍 Yes I want to know

  • 👎 Nah not interested

Happy Halloween!

On that note, I’m going to go and get ready to trick-or-treat with my little rainbow witch and baby dinosaur.

Till next week, with love

Abha x
